The RZ1-K (or RZ1K) is a flexible power and control cable designed for indoor fixed applications with a voltage rating is 0.6/1kV and 1.8/3kV. The RZ1-K is manufactured with Class 5 copper conductors - the flexibility of this stranding facilitates installations with sinuous courses, including in underground supply networks for outdoor lighting. This cable is not suitable for direct burial.
The Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Polyolefin oversheath creates a high safety cable that will not emit toxic fumes and smoke in the event of fire, making it appropriate for installations such as buildings and public areas where there is a high concentration of people or valuable equipment.
This cable generally has a green outersheath which is UV stable and suitable for direct exposure to sunlight. It is also available with black sheathing.

The designation (AS) references the flame retardant properties of the cable, meeting not only the single vertical flame test of IEC 60332-1-2 (as RZ1-K), but also the bunched cables fire test of IEC 60332-3-24.
The RZ1-K is increasingly specified for infrastructure projects across Europe, but is originally designed for the Spanish market, being manufactured in accordance with UNE 21123-4 - the standard for XLPE insulated and polyolefin sheathed power cables.
